Overview

CoinNest is a concept crypto wallet — specifically the part everyone finds intimidating: connecting or importing a wallet. I wanted to see if I could make seed phrases, wallet providers, and Face ID setup feel calm and approachable instead of like a security exam.

A short, self-directed UI project focused on one flow done well, from the intro screen through to a connected wallet.

My Role

Solo, start to finish, over two days. Design and UI in Figma, custom illustrations in Illustrator. A focused exercise in getting one high-stakes flow right rather than building a whole product.

The Flow

Intro. A single welcome screen that says what the app does in one line and gets out of the way. One clear action — Get Started — no carousel, because a wallet's value doesn't need three screens to explain.

Connect Wallet. Eight common providers — Metamask, Coinbase, Trust Wallet, and the rest — laid out in a clean grid, with importing via seed phrase or creating a new wallet as the two paths below. The goal was recognition: whichever wallet you already use, you spot it fast.

Import via Seed Phrase. The nervous part of the flow, so it's kept deliberately simple: paste your seed phrase, set a password, optionally turn on Face ID. The phrase field supports scan-to-import, and there's inline guidance on the password so nothing fails silently.

Wallet Connected. A clear success state confirming the wallet is linked, with a single path forward to the dashboard. The flow closes the loop instead of dumping the user out.

Outcome & Reflection

This was a two-day exercise, and it shows me a few things I'd tighten with more time. I'd move the element sizing to more standard, familiar dimensions — some of the inputs and touch targets drift from the platform norms people expect. I'd redraw the input and toggle icons for more consistency, and rework the success screen, which is the weakest of the five.

Mostly it was a study in restraint: taking a flow that usually feels technical and intimidating, and seeing how calm I could make it without hiding what's actually happening.
